The two-day workshop on Echocardiography, ’Echohardt-2006’, organised by Wockhardt Heart Hospital, in association with Indian Academy of Echocardiography, concluded recently at Hotel Centre Point, informs a press release. The workshop had been organised to provide up-to-date knowledge and techniques about the basic to latest development in the field of Echocardiography. National and International experts were part of the faculty.
The Workshop was inaugurated on 25th March by lighting the traditional lamp by P K Davison, General Manager, Wockhardt Hospital and the other faculty members of the workshop. On this occasion Davison explained the objective behind the workshop.
Dr (Prof) J C Mohan, Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Metro Hospital and Heart Institute, New Delhi, Dr Bharat Dalvi, Paediatric Cardiologist, Glenmark Cardiac Centre, Mumbai, Dr Rakesh Gupta, President, Indian Academy of Echocardiography, Echo and Colour Doppler Centre, Sundarlal Jain Hospital, New Delhi, and Dr Partho P Sengupta, Assistant Professor of Cardio Vascular Medicine at Mayo clinic, Rochester, USA were the technical guest faculty. And Dr Vikas Bisne, Dr Prashant Jagtap, Dr Pramod Mundra, Dr Mahesh Fulwani, Dr Kirti Tanna were the other speakers. The workshop dealt with Basic Cardiac Physiology, Instruments, Haemodynamics, Valve Studies, Congenital, Rheumatic Heart Disease, Coronary Artery Disease (Heart Attack), and 3-D Echocardiography.
Dr. Vikas Bisne welcomed the guest faculty and the delegates. Dr Partho Sengupta spoke on Cardiac Functions - a changing paradigm. This was followed by a talk by Dr J C Mohan on conventional v/s new parameters.
After this, Dr J C Mohan, Dr Bharat Dalvi, Dr Rakesh Gupta Dr Prashant Jagtap, Dr Partho Sengupta, Dr Pramod Mundra, Dr Mahesh Fulwani, also spoke on various relevant topics.
The workshop was attended by more than 150 delegates, including experts in the field of Echocardiography, Cardiologists, Physicians, Postgraduate students, General Practitioners, and other specialists.
Participating delegates received certificates jointly issued by Indian Academy of Echocardiography and Wockhardt Hospital.
